Requested by MiniDiren.

I'm actually going to post the following in caps lock, because as an autistic woman who's prone to depression and anxiety, people who treat mental disorders as trends and fads piss me off immensely.

DEPRESSION IS NOT BEAUTIFUL.

SCHIZOPHRENIA AND PERSONALITY DISORDERS ARE SCARY AS FUCK.

ANXIETY IS NOT CUTE.

NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS LIKE AUTISM AND ADHD ARE NOT COOL.

SUICIDE AND SELF-HARM ARE NOT EDGY.

GO FUCK YOURSELF IF YOU BELIEVE ANY OF THE SHIT THAT STUPID ATTENTION SEEKERS DO.

YOU DO NOT WANT ANY OF THOSE CONDITIONS. THEY SEVERELY IMPEDE DAILY LIVING.

Good lord... Don't forget stargender, pangender, don't even get me started on tri-gender.

Fucking hell, why can't these people just say they're non-binary and not make these labels for themselves?

Triggered is by far one of the worst.

You're legit making fun of the people whom can become disabled by this problem.

Mental Disorders are NOT fun! They can effect your life!

I have ADHD. It's hard for me to pay attention to reality AND my thoughts. Once when I was 9 I tried sticking FUCKING FORKS in a toaster to get Toaster Strudels out. My mom stopped me before I could get electrocuted.

My younger sister has Autism and ADHD. She's just now starting to learn how to read and do addition. And she's 8 years old in 3rd grade! By now she should have been learning multiplication by now.

You know, diseases and other medical problems ALSO aren't fun. Believe me. I mean, when you're sick, at least you get to miss school for a day, but.. It's not exactly "fun" to be sick. Take it from someone who had bronchitis and had to stay home for like, a week.
But I can agree with this, there's nothing about disabilities and other stuff that turns into a "fad/trend". I mean, FAKING?!
If you're really sad, that isn't EXACTLY depression. You have to be diagnosed with it. And no, I haven't ever had depression (I have been really sad for a while though) and mainly I don't have any disabilities that I know of (except maybe I have like a learning disorder or something? I don't know)
But honestly, real people with disabilities don't announce it like they've just won a trophy. I have an internet friend (he's not on DA yet though) and he has both autism and ADHD but he doesn't act like "HEY GUYS LOOK AT ME AND BE NICE I HAVE AUTISM AND ADHD!!" I mean, yeah, he doesn't want people to be mean to him since at the time, there was a lot going on with him, he was cheated on and his parents wanted to homeschool him..
In fact.. When people fake medical problems for attention, it's kinda like those people who just say "I'm ugly" for attention, like "TELL ME I'M PRETTY!!!!!"
Overall.. Why think a disorder is fun?

I agree.
I've unfortunately suffered from clinic medium cases of ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Depression for a VERY LONG time.
It is NOT glamorous, in fact it is TORTUROUS.
I HATE seeing all of these people that go around saying "ooh I have depression!!1!!" just to get what they want, and not even meaning it.

I'm always scared to say why I'm upset or hurt or mentally breaking inside most of the time. Because I feel like they won't understand, or just call me selfish or weak, etc. People really need to stop doing that because you're going to start stopping others who need therapy or help from saying something

I'm going to fucking worship you for this stamp and you're gonna be fucking pleased about it.

Like, It's not a mental disorder, its an illness, but I suffer from Asthma, and it puts me in danger for the most unfair things:
If I am too active, thus now I'm a bit chubby because of my asthma getting in the way.
If it's too hot or too cold outside. The heat and cold affects my breathing BIG TIME, fuck, during the winter about 2 years ago, I forgot to take my emergency inhaler with me one time and I swear to gob, that was the CLOSEST THING I ever had to a near death experience. It was blizzarding and my lungs were getting tighter and tighter. The thing that saved me was something I heard from a thing I was watching about leaning forward, making my throat open up so I could breathe again. I had to do that for 15 minutes at least while I walked back home.

Asthma is one day likely going to kill me if I get too cocky.
And one day once I told someone about it, I'm not saying who they are nor their gender since it's kind of taken care of, but it still bothers me that there are people who would do this in the world:
I told someone about my asthma, and APPARENTLY THEY THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A COOL "weakness" for their persona, so they added it on there just because I had it.
They didn't have it themselves, they only added it because I had it and they thought it was fucking cool, and thought it was a "weakness".

UM. OKAY THANK YOU FOR CALLING PEOPLE LIKE ME WEAK FOR SOMETHING WE NEVER ASKED FOR BUD. And it's not cool to have these kinds of things. Did I mention that most likely the way I will die is probably from a severe asthma attack if I'm cocky?

Is that considered "edgy" to ya'll fuckers?
If that's the case then fuck the hell off. I bet you wouldn't think it's so cool if you suffered from things like this.

Did I comment on this? I forgot. Anywho, I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2011, and with how everyone threw it around I thought it was gonna be all happy fun times! Big surprise, it wasn't. As soon as schoolwork got hard I'd be failing and doodling and doing something else. Always happy? Nope, when I get emotional, I get emotional, simple anger turning to rage at the slightest provocation, sadness diminishing me to a mess of snot and tears, joy often escalating into euphoria and sometimes hypomania, which made others question my sanity (not trying to be edgy, as I'm perfectly fine, but everyone would joke about it). It has it perks- like me knowing everything about the physics behind the visible light spectrum and acing my final tests last semester of the ninth grade, or the spontaneous energy and motivation that drives me to do something good like exercise or create sculptures- but a lot of the time it can be kinda annoying.

TL;DR ADHD ≠ "Fun 24/7 happy fun times ooh squirrel!"

Yeah... I have to cope with anxiety. It should NEVER be sugarcoated: I'd like to see how those fake anxious people would cope with panicking when their mother is 5 minutes late from work, when their house cat runs out in the garden, when someone they called on the phone doesn't answer, or when someone comes in class with a call slip. Even though I manage to live a relatively normal life despite having to deal with all of that, it's EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT having to. PLEASE TAKE ANXIETY SERIOUSLY!!! Out of the mentioned diseases, it's probably the less impairing one- when nothing is happening, it's OK, you live a normal life. Until someone you know is late, or doesn't answer immediately a call, or someone has a call slip, etc. Then, it turns into hell. And no, you can't think "it's OK, it's probably nothing". It DOES NOT WORK. You keep on panicking until the aforementioned person is there, your cat is in the house again, or the phone rings and you see that person's number, or you find out that the call slip is either for someone else, or a counselor/advisor/witness call and you aren't getting in trouble. Then, it's OK... Until anything happens again. And we're back to that. And one thing is when it's for 5 minutes, another is when it's hours... But when you spend days, or even WEEKS like that... It sucks. It definitely sucks. And yet, people sometimes call me an idiot, or just a person who gets easily worried. I guess the second one is just a sugarcoat of the truth. BUT THE TRUTH IS THAT IT IS LIKE THAT TO THE POINT IT'S A DISEASE! IT CAN BE IMPAIRING! IT IS NOT AN EXCUSE OR "FAKE". AND IT IS NOT FUN!

P.S. This is also going to be a journal on my profile

Probably two of THE worst romanticized mental illnesses are PTSD and Stockholm Syndrome.

SJW Tumblrina types fake PTSD when they see something that they don't like, such as a fanart of seeing their fictional BFF getting injured or killed in battle. Or claiming they have PTSD for people flirting with them.

Sad but true. It's horrying to say the least.

And of course, Stockholm Syndrome is just as debilitating and harmful as PTSD, and should never be romanticized. I mean, people with Stockholm Syndrome end up in dangerous situations, where they could be raped and/or killed.

It just sickens me people do this BS. It gives actual sufferers of Stockholm Syndrome and PTSD and bad reputation.
